Advocates are any member of the community who want to help the state move toward the north star. They can be teachers, school leaders, students, parents, not-for-profit leaders, industry leaders, researchers, policy makers, lobbyists, or any other role.
This role can be anywhere from just a few minutes/week of learning and chatting, to much more, depending on what special projects an advocate takes on.
